After acquiring the Giesen 15kg drum roaster at the back end of last year, preparations and planning have been underway to get roasting underway. The roaster is now fully installed at our base in Milton and we are now well underway, roasting on this daily to really understand its full potential.
Having been roasting for over 30 years, we know a thing or two about the process, but as with any new piece of equipment, we wanted to get it right from the very first roast. Giesen really care for their end users and invited Muhammed and Nasar to their headquarters in Amsterdam to not only understand the process of how a Giesen is made but also to get to grips with their unique way of controlling the roast. A factory tour and several trial roasts each later, the day had flown by and they were back to Milton with a passion to start roasting!
Why the new roaster?
We are mainly looking to use the Giesen roaster in tandem with our 60kg roaster to bring you a selection of coffees from around the globe as single origin roasts. We will be trialling a selection of roasts for espresso and roasts and grinds for filter and brew kit.
